ABOUT BaBs

Be inspired, empowered, acknowledged and supported as you work towards the birth of your baby and life as a new parent. Come along to Birthing & Babies (BaBs), an information, education and support group for pregnant women, mums of babies and their partners.

At BaBs we aim to:

• Provide a safe space for you to share your experiences, good or bad.
• Empower you to make decisions based on good information, not fear.
• Provide an opportunity for you to connect with other mums/mums-to-be in your local community.
• Inform you about helpful local services & resources.

Birthing and Babies (BaBs) is a participating organization ot the Maternity Coalition, which is a national not-for-profit umbrella organization, committed to the advancement of best practice maternity care for all Australian women and their families. 

A midwife is present at each meeting.

BaBs is run by volunteer mums and midwives in the Stanthorpe region.  Gold coin donations or volunteer help gratefully appreciated.

LIBRARY

BaBs has an extensive library of birthing books, DVD's and magazines.

FreeMOM TENS machine

Thanks to a generous donation from Pink Poppies, BaBS has purchased a FreeMOM TENS machine.

TENS offers easy to use, drug free pain relief during labour.

Hire fee covers the cost of the disposable, sterile adhesive electrode pads.

Topic : Baby Safety

A representative from Queensland Ambulance will speak on the topic of Baby Safety.

If you are pregnant, a new mum or someone who cares for a baby, join us on Monday October 3rd from 9.30am until 11.30am at Community Development Services (CDS) 8 Corundum St Stanthorpe.

Discussion points will include - choking, CPR, burns, falls and of course when to call an ambulance.  It is an interactive session so bring along your questions.

Children welcome and gold coin donation appreciated.

A midwife is present at all BaBs meetings.

FUNDRAISING

We plan to have a raffle at Market in the Mountains on September 11.  Assistance in selling tickets on the day would be much appreciated.
