The Stanthorpe Agricultural Society is a diverse group of individuals committed to furthering a variety of activities in the local area.
The main event of the year is Stanthorpe Show held in late January. It incorporates the activities of the sub-committees into one grand event held over two days. Then throughout the year there are a diverse variety of exhibitions, auctions, and other events.
The Campdraft immediately follows the Show, then the horse action is continued in March with the Rodeo.
The Animal Nursery holds monthly events. And the Poultry Committee holds a variety of events during the year with an Annual Show in July and the Auction in August.
For those more interested in wine and winemaking, the Society is host to the Australian Small Winemakers Show which is held in October. This includes a variety of activities of interest to both the winemakers and the public.
As well as these regular activities the showgrounds is the venue chosen for a variety of functions ranging from small private family gatherings to major events like the 2009 Regional Fire & Rescue Trials and Cuboree 2010 which will see over 1500 young people, leaders and families using the grounds for five days in September.
