U3A Granite Belt

University of the Third Age is a worldwide organisation which promotes lifelong learning. The "Third Age" is when we reach retirement but remain independent.
OUR LOCAL GROUP
U3A Granite Belt Inc currently has almost 100 members. We conduct classes/activities at the Community Learning Centre at the Stanthorpe State High School, and at the STEPS Centre in Connor Street, and an Art Group at the Senior Citizens' rooms in the Civic Centre. U3A Granite Belt is a member of the U3A Network Queensland.
BENEFITS?
Some benefits U3A members enjoy are:
- making new friends (and renewing old friendships)
- keeping minds more active
- visiting interesting places
- enjoying different interest groups (18+ group at present; new groups always emerging)
- sharing and discussing interests with like-minded members
- participating/attending as much or as little as you want
- exceptionally low annual subscription of $25 per year
FURTHER INFORMATION
Information about the classes/activities is published monthly in a Newsletter (see link below) and regular planning meetings are conducted on the third Thursday of each month at the Community Learning Centre at 10 am.
