Family Day Care

What is family day care?

Family Day Care is an approved home -based childcare service providing quality care in the homes of registered carers.  The carers are supported by a coordination and resource team.

Family day care provides learning and development experiences for children in a safe, secure home environment for babies and children up to 14 years of age.

Famliy day care abides by state licensing requirements and national standards for family day care.  The scheme is also accredited through the National Childcare Accreditation Council.  Each carer must meet the natinal standards not olny in early childhood and childcare skills but also in planning, administration and communications.

Carers and all adults living in the home are required to have a Blue Card, a current first aid certificate and maintain a safe childcare environment.

What does this mean for parents?

For parents, family day care offers so much more than a fun safe place to leave your child.  Flexibility, stability, consistency, reassurance and family values are underpinned by meaningful and often long term relationships.  These are the key ingredients in building happy and well adjusted children.

Parents also receive Child Care Benefit to help with the cost of child care.
