Whistle Stop Heritage and Community Garden

Whistle Stop Heritage and Community Garden

Is opened to all

The Whistle Stop Heritage and Community Garden was set up to regenerate the Queensland Rail Heritage listed garden at the Stanthorpe Railway Station and upgrade and maintain the land surrounding the garden.

After several years of dedicated volunteer work both the heritage and community gardens are looking magnificent.

All volunteers are local community members. Some are referred by Specialist Employment Agencies and other community organisation. Others are people who enjoy gardening, contributing to the Stanthorpe community and socialising with like-minded people.

The tasks are tailored to suit the physical abilities of all volunteers.  Why not pay us a visit to find out if you’d like to become a volunteer?

Where to find us: Stanthorpe Railway station. Entry to the garden is via Tyrel street (opposite no 19 Tyrel Street)

Working Bees: The Group meets at the garden on Thursdays from 8am to 4pm.   Some volunteers attend weekly for a full day, others for a few hours.

Visitors are always welcome.

There is always work to be done, from planting to weeding to propagating plants and mowing.
